Acrylic Awning Fabrics

Acrylic Fabrics are available in many textures which have a large range of colors in plain or striped colours and perfect for a large range of awning applications including Sunblinds, eShade Blinds, Folding Arm Awnings, Door Canopies, Dutch Hoods, Drop Arm Awnings and many other window awning options.

Acrylic is a high quality coated synthetic fibre specifically designed for outdoor use.

Acrylic has the same colour, design and pattern on both sides of the fabric, so you get to enjoy your colour choice at looking in or out.

Canvas Awning Fabrics

Canvas Material has been used on window awnings in Australia for the last 40 years. Traditional Awnings had a variety of colors ranges in plain but in stripes they have traditional had Green backs meaning whatever color faced the street the inside would always be green due to fabric bleeding, now with upgrades in technology canvas fabric comes in Grey back or Beige back, in a range of beautiful colours, and matching Colorbond® colours which most melbourne homes now have on their window frames or gutters.

Awning canvas is durable and resilient, making it long lasting for years to come. The traditional stripes that have been seen for decades on Aussies homes are still as popular on windows.

Canvas is a coated cotton and polyester fibre, water resistant and Alfresco Blinds Co support Australian made canvas material by specialty manufacturers as they are made specifically for Melbourne’s harsh climate and sun radiation. Canvas is suitable for traditional window awnings, straight drop awnings, fixed guided awnings and wire guided awning, due to its heavy nature they cannot be used on retractable awnings like folding arm awnings.

PVC Awning Fabrics

Clear PVC is popular on outdoor blinds as it allows natural light and a view to be kept unlike sunscreen blinds, clear pvc comes in 2 thicknesses, 0.75mm or 1mm and are used on blinds such as the eZIP Track Blinds, straight drop, patio blinds or café blinds.

Clear PVC will only provide wind or rain protection, now there is tinted PVC which has a small 50+ uv resistance but if sun is the issue then Sunscreen Mesh, Acrylic or Canvas is best.

Solid PVC comes in a range of modern colours and waterproof for canopy awnings, although not as common, is an alternative to canvas or acrylic fabrics.
